(NewsNation) — Justin Baldoni has decided not to amend the claims in his countersuit against “It Ends With Us” co-star Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, according to reports.

A few weeks ago, the judge in the case, Judge Lewis J. Liman, granted the motions to dismiss Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds. When he dismissed the suit, he told Baldoni’s team that they could still amend their claims of tortious interference with contract and breach of implied covenant.

However, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, said they would not be amending either claim. He told People, “The Court’s decision on the motion to dismiss has no effect whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign, and it does not in any way affect our vigorous defense against Ms. Lively’s claims.”

Freedman continued, “Discovery is proceeding and we are confident that we will prevail against these factually baseless accusations. Instead of revising the existing claims, our clients will be pursuing additional legal options that are available to us.”

Liman also dismissed Baldoni’s $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times. On TMZ Live, Freedman said, “[Baldoni is] a person who wants to be vindicated, and that’s all that he cares about. He knows who he is. He knows what he’s done. He knows what he hasn’t done.”

Blake Lively rep says dismissal of Justin Baldoni suit ‘was a total victory’

A representative for Lively told People, “Baldoni’s lawyer said the judge’s decision to dismiss … was not a big deal as they promised to amend and refile it. As per usual, that was not true. The Court’s dismissal of Baldoni’s sham lawsuit was a total victory after all.”

Lively’s team has also had to deal with some blows, as Liman previously denied the star’s motion for a protective order to keep her communications with Taylor Swift private. Documents claim that Baldoni’s team said they never received access to those communications, which they believe are necessary.

Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment

All of this started when Lively brought a lawsuit against Baldoni for alleged sexual harassment. However, an insider told NewsNation’s Paula Froelich in February that Reynolds and Lively “have no idea what’s coming down the pike.”

In her lawsuit, Lively claimed that her haircare brand’s sales went down almost 78% after a “social manipulation campaign.” Someone close to the company Target told Puck that the brand will most likely do “less than $15 million” in sales this year.

Another insider told Froelich that no one has wanted to work with the “Gossip Girl” star since the lawsuits started. The Lively v. Wayfarer Studios et al. trial is scheduled to start in March 2026.
