(NewsNation) — Jelly Roll is sharing a major regret that he calls one of the worst moments of his life.

The singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, opened up about cheating on Bunnie Xo, his wife of nine years, on a recent episode of the “Human School Podcast,” according to E! News.

“I don’t talk about this publicly at all,” Jelly Roll revealed. “But one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife.”

Jelly Roll, 40, expressed disappointment in his actions, saying, “It was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’”

He added that he worked very hard to fix the relationship with Bunny Xo.

“The repair has been special. And we’re stronger than we could have ever been.”

Jelly Roll: I surrounded myself with cheaters

The “Wild Ones” singer said he was influenced to cheat by the people he hung around with, who were also cheating on their spouses.

“I was hanging around a bunch of people that were cheating on their wives,” he said on the show.

He likened the experience to his past drug use.

“When I was doing cocaine, I was hanging around a bunch of people that were doing cocaine. When I was drinking a lot, I was hanging around a lot of people that were drinking a lot,” Jelly Roll said.

Jelly Roll: I now hang with positive influences

The “Save Me” performer said that he had maintained those friendships because they had a “number attached to ‘em.”

“Horrible humans. But I would just be proud to say, ‘That dude’s been with me 12 years,’” he said.

Jelly Roll and his wife now surround themselves with positive influences in their lives.

“I wanted to be friends with people I wanted to be like,” he said.
