(NewsNation) — The specter of Jeffrey Epstein continues to haunt both President Trump and the Royal Family.
It was an inauspicious week for the Trump state visit, which came just days after the Duchess of Kent’s funeral — where the disgraced Prince Andrew once again tried to put himself front and center.
Andrew was seen attempting to goad Prince William into conversation — a failed attempt — but it served to remind the country of his ties and close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
British ambassador’s Jeffrey Epstein connection
Andrew was hidden away during the state visit, but more embarrassment was to come as the British ambassador to the U.S., Peter Mandelson, was fired after his close friendship with the renowned pervert was exposed last week.
Mandelson’s friendship was uncovered after Epstein’s 2003 renowned “birthday book” was made public and included a note from the ambassador. Emails from 2008 were also published that expressed Mandelson’s support for Epstein after his conviction for soliciting a minor and calling Epstein his “best pal”.
Protests erupt over Trump visit
Meanwhile, a rogue group of protesters not only rolled out an embarrassing banner of President Trump and Epstein right before Trump’s arrival at Windsor, but, according to Rob Shuter, a short film was projected onto the castle walls highlighting Donald Trump’s past ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
“The grainy clips showed Trump laughing alongside Epstein, plus stills of both men with Prince Andrew,” Shuter wrote. “Narration labeled them ‘the three amigos’ — a phrase lifted from royal author Andrew Lownie’s bombshell book ‘Entitled.'”
“It was shocking, surreal — like watching history haunt the present,” one witness told Shuter.
