(NewsNation) — HGTV star Frank Cozzolino has died, his family confirmed in his obituary. He was 56.
Cozzolino, a Toronto-born electrician, appeared on the home renovation show “Holmes on Homes” with host Mike Holmes, who paid tribute to his late friend.
“I am devastated by the passing of my good friend Frank Cozzolino,” Holmes wrote on Instagram alongside photos of them together. “Frank made us better. His impact will live on in every home he helped.”
He added, “Frank could walk into the toughest electrical disaster, crack a joke in his style, and suddenly the whole room felt lighter. That’s just who he was.”
While no official cause of death has been revealed, Holmes said Cozzolino suffered from liver issues and “sudden” health complications resulted in his death.
“Frank has gone through hell,” Holmes says in an Instagram Reel. “I mean, he’s had a liver six years ago, that liver failed, he had to go in and get another liver.”
Continuing, “It was touch and go, we thought for sure that he wasn’t going to make it, and he came back. And all of a sudden, due to complications, he has passed away Dec. 4.”
Cozzolino is survived by his partner, Lisa, and daughters Filomena and Alexandria.
