“That time has passed very rapidly, and yet people are still watching the show, daily almost [I] run into people who say, ‘We never watched it before, but we just started watching it, and it’s a really good show,’” Bishop told “Morning in America” host Markie Martin. “Yeah, it is, it’s amazing.”

Kelly Bishop on grief

Bishop’s memoir dives into her 60-year career in show business but also loss as she writes about the death of her husband Leo Leonard, whom she was married to for 37 years until he died in 2018.

Bishop said that fans of “Gilmore Girls” have told her that the show helped them while they were grieving their loved ones, including a woman who suddenly lost her husband.

“She told me, ‘That’s what got me through those first few months was just watching that show over and over again,’” Kelly said.
