(NewsNation) — Fans of Hulk Hogan, Gene Hackman and other celebrities are upset that the late stars were omitted from in the In Memoriam at the “77th Primetime Emmy Awards.”

Stars left out of the In Memoriam
World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was left out of the segment, despite being a fixture on TV for decades.
Not only did Hogan appear on WWE programming (when it was WWF), but he starred in the 1994 series “Thunder in Paradise.” He also ventured in the world of reality TV as the star of “Hogan Knows Best.”
Hogan died at the age of 71 on July 24 from a heart attack caused by a form of leukemia, according to a medical examiner’s report.
Two-time Academy Award winner Gene Hackman wasn’t featured in the segment. While Hackman, was more notable in film, he has appeared on TV shows, including American crime drama “Brenner,” which aired from 1959 to 1964.
In February, Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were found dead in their New Mexico home.
Foul play was not suspected, but authorities did not release the circumstances of their deaths and said an investigation was ongoing.
Fans of “The French Connection” actor took to social media to decry Hackman’s omission, according to the Daily Mail.
“Where was Gene Hackman in the In Memoriam?” someone asked.
Another fumed: “Did they leave out Gene Hackman? Ugh,” another person wrote.
“Did I miss GENE HACKMAN? Was he included?” someone else posted, according to the Daily Mail.
“Candyman” actor Tony Todd was also left out of the segment. He appeared on shows, including “The X-Files,” “The Flash,” “24,” and the “Star Trek” franchise.
Stars included in the In Memoriam
While the segment was criticized for its omissions, it did pay tribute to many other notable actors and entertainment figures.
Among those featured were Malcolm Jamal Warner, Quincy Jones, Dame Maggie Smith, and George Wendt.
