(NewsNation) — Former Disney star Shaun Weiss is working to help former Nickelodeon star Tylor Chase after a series of videos showcasing Chase’s struggle with homelessness and drug addiction went viral.

Chase had a recurring role on the popular Nickelodeon show “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” in the early 2000s. The 36-year-old went viral this week after a TikTok video revealed him to be living on the streets of Riverside, California, while struggling with drug abuse and his mental health.

Weiss, who starred in the 1992 Disney film “The Mighty Ducks,” saw the video and, having faced similar problems, is now offering to help Chase get his life back on track. In an Instagram post on Monday, Weiss asked for help in locating Chase, as he and some friends had found a bed available for him at a detox facility.

“We have a place for him to go and get long-term treatment thanks to my buddy Mike Jordan at Eleven 11 Recovery,” Weiss wrote. “All we need to do now is find him. I’m not in Los Angeles or I would go look for him myself.”

On Tuesday, Weiss announced that Chase had been found and that a group of folks were working to get him into treatment.

Chase’s former co-star from the show, Daniel Curtis Lee, has reached out numerous times in support of him in recent years and has previously shared videos of their interactions. On Tuesday, Lee shared that Chase had been able to speak with his dad and is now asking the internet for guidance on how to best get him financial support.

“I’m also looking for guidance from a financial advisor on setting up a trust where funds are released only after successful completion of a program,” Lee wrote. “We want to do this the right way—safe, structured, and supportive.”
