(NewsNation) — Three of the Food Network’s Halloween themed cooking shows have quietly been canceled, much to the dismay of fans, according to the Daily Mail.

“Halloween Cookie Challenge,” “Last Bite Hotel,” and “Outrageous Pumpkins” will not air this year.

Rosanna Pansino and Duff Goldman hosted “Halloween Cookie Challenge,” which premiered in 2022 and aired for two seasons on Food Network

“Outrageous Pumpkins,” hosted by Damaris Phillips, saw expert pumpkin carvers compete to be the Outrageous Pumpkins Champion and a prize of $50,000.

“Last Bite Hotel” was helmed by Tituss Burgess and only premiered last September.

The show followed eight chefs who cooked in an isolated hotel with only 13 ingredients.

Food Network fans express disappointment

“I was about to check and see when the ‘Last Bite Hotel’ was going to air only to find out it got the (ax) Come on @FoodNetwork that was a great show for the Halloween season. @titussburgesss was a perfect host,” an X user wrote Tuesday.

According to the Daily Mail, a Reddit user said, “They scaled back quite a bit this year. They used to have an abundance of holiday-themed shows, many that only lasted a year or two, and now they are even dropping the regulars like ‘Holiday Wars.’ It’s disappointing.”

“Losing ‘Last Bite Hotel’ does indeed suck,” someone wrote. “That seemed like one of the few original ideas the network has had recently… and I’m saying that going into it thinking omg so cheesy.”

HGTV cancels shows to save money

The series’ cancellations come after HGTV axed a bunch of its shows this summer as part of cost-cutting measures.

Some of the shows canceled included “Christina on the Coast,” starring Christina Hall; “The Flipping El Moussas,” “Farmhouse Fixer,” “Married to Real Estate,” “Bargain Block,” and “Izzy Does It.”

The rising costs of home renovation materials, which are expected to become more expensive due to tariffs, as well as falling ratings, have led the network to reevaluate its brand.

Despite the cancellations, HGTV announced more than 100 episodes from various shows will air in 2026.
