(NewsNation) — Alton Brown’s new cooking show isn’t airing on Food Network; it’s streaming on YouTube instead.
Brown launched his new YouTube series “Alton Brown Cooks Food” on Saturday.
In the first episode, “The Big Bird,” which has already garnered over 1.3 million views, Brown discusses how to cook the perfect turkey for Thanksgiving.
“Back in 1999, my cohorts and I capped the first season of a show called ‘Good Eats’ with a one-hour special about Thanksgiving called ‘Romancing the Bird,’ the centerpiece of which was a recipe for a roast turkey, which included a pre-cook soak in a salt solution, or a brine,” he said. “It was an unusual move for the time. Not a long of brining being done back then.”

His Food Network show “Good Eats” ran for 16 seasons and has appeared on many of the network’s shows, including “Cutthroat Kitchen” and “Iron Chef America.”
Alton Brown fans are rejoicing
Fans are seemingly excited by Brown’s new internet series.
“I’m not exaggerating: this made me emotional. Man, it’s so great to get a surprise Alton Brown episode. The science. The food. The humor. Astonished to see this level of production value on YouTube. Alton, you’ve inspired me for years and this was absolutely spectacular,” one user wrote.
With another writing, “I don’t think I can adequately describe the enormous grin that welled out of me from seeing the fridge cam again. He’s back like he never left, y’all! Hail to the king.”
