(NewsNation) — “Saturday Night Live” star Ego Nwodim announced that she’s leaving the long-running show after seven seasons.

“The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight,” she wrote in an Instagram story. “But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL.”

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Nwodim would be returning to the show, giving fans hope to see the return of her character, Lisa, from Temecula.

“I am immensely grateful to Lorne for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship,” she continued, according to Variety. “Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories (and that laughter) with me always.”

Nwodim’s departure comes alongside a string of cast members being let go or walking away from the show before October’s premiere, including Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow and Heidi Gardner.

The actress and comedienne joined SNL as a featured player in 2018 before being promoted to the main cast for Season 46 in 2020, Variety reports.
