(NewsNation) — Denise Richards was granted a five-year restraining order by a judge against her ex, Aaron Phypers, after a lengthy court battle.

The judge granted the order on Nov. 7, after Richards accused Phypers of physical abuse that occurred during their relationship, according to People Magazine. The order will expire on Nov. 7, 2030.

The order stipulates that Phypers be barred from owning or buying firearms, abusing, disturbing her peace and being in contact with the former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star.

She, however, can record any conversations she has with Phypers, People reported.

Phypers filed for divorce from the “Wild Things” actress on July 7 after six years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences in court documents.

Eleven days after he filed for divorce, Richards was granted a temporary restraining order against him.

Denise Richard alleges ex gave her concussions

In an October hearing, Richards claimed her ex gave her multiple concussions, and she feared for her life, according to People.

She claimed Phypers gave her a black eye and “slammed me up against the concrete wall and my head hit it” in two incidents in 2022.

The third incident allegedly happened in April 2025 when he “was squeezing my head so hard” and “picked my head up,” which “felt like he was crushing my skull,” Richards told the court.

“He’s almost killed me so many damn times,” she told the judge.
