(NewsNation) — Jonas Brothers fans were in for a surprise Sunday as the group brought out Demi Lovato for the opening night of their “Greetings From Your Hometown” tour.
Lovato joined Joe Jonas onstage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where the pair sang two songs — “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” — from their Disney Channel hit movies “Camp Rock” and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” according to videos posted to social media.
Joe Jonas and Lovato played love interests in 2008’s “Camp Rock” and dated briefly in 2010, according to People magazine.
Demi Lovato: ‘I was really mad’ at Joe Jonas over breakup
The pair broke up two months after going public, just before their press run for the “Camp Rock” sequel.
“We were in a relationship, and we broke up, and at one point, I was really mad at him,” Lovato said in a 2013 interview with ABC News. “Now, I can fortunately say that him, and his brother Nick, have always been there for me, and are literally family, and like brothers … we have a great friendship. And we may not be as close as we used to be, but that’s OK.”
There is no word on whether a third “Camp Rock” movie is in the works. The pair were teenagers when the first movie premiered and are now in their 30s.
In 2016, the two performed together for Joe Jonas’ band DNCE in Los Angeles, People magazine reported at the time.
