(NewsNation) — Tickets for the highly anticipated Christopher Nolan film “The Odyssey” are already selling out, a full year ahead of its release.

Tickets went on sale at midnight ET on Thursday for IMAX theaters equipped to screen the movie in 70mm film. Nolan shot the entire film using IMAX cameras, marking a first for a commercial feature.

IMAX announced the ticket release on social media Thursday night, and most participating theaters are already sold out.

Only a few dozen theaters worldwide are capable of screening the movie in 70mm film.

“The Odyssey” is a big-screen adaptation of Homer’s epic poem of the same name. The film has a star-studded cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Zendaya.

Audiences will also have the option to watch the film in normal theaters as well as other premium formats.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
