(NewsNation) — “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated follow-up to “Oppenheimer,” is scheduled for release next year with an all-star cast.
The movie is based on Homer’s Greek epic of the same name, which tells the story of Odysseus’ journey home after the Trojan War.
Here’s who is playing whom in Nolan’s upcoming blockbuster:
Matt Damon as Odysseus

Matt Damon is playing Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, who spent 10 years fighting in the Trojan War and is returning home to his family on an epic journey.
Anne Hathaway as Penelope

Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, Odysseus’s wife, in the film.
“She must hold Ithaca together in the King’s absence, a project made more difficult by a phalanx of suitors trying to convince her that the king has died and she must remarry,” according to the Den of Geek.
Tom Holland as Telemachus

Tom Holland plays Telemachus, Odysseus and Penelope’s son, who decides to leave home to find his father at sea.
Zendaya as Athena

Zendaya is also in Nolan’s epic, where she’ll play the goddess Athena.
Robert Pattinson as Antinous

Robert Pattinson will star in the film as Antinous, one of the main suitors who wants to marry Hathaway’s Penelope.
Charlize Theron as Circe

Charlize Theron will play Circe, a goddess of magic, who hosts Odysseus and his crew on his way back home, according to IMDb.
“The Odyssey” is scheduled to open in theaters on July 17, 2026.
