(NewsNation) — Chandler Moore, the co-founder of Maverick City Music, is suing the group’s CEO for diverting millions of dollars in royalties, according to Christian Post.

Moore alleges that the worship collective Norman Gyamfi, who once managed Moore, misused his role as CEO to steal money and publishing rights that belonged to Moore.

According to the lawsuit, which was obtained by Billboard, Gyamfi abused his power as the group’s CEO.

Gyamfi allegedly arranged the sale of Maverick City Music’s master recordings to Sony’s distribution arm, The Orchard, without telling him that he would personally profit from a commission on the deal.

Moore signed a contract with Maverick City Music last year and wrote new songs and toured with the group, he says in the claim.

He accuses Gyamfi and the people who work with him of withholding $800,000 of his royalties.

Moore announced on Instagram Monday that he’s leaving the group, calling his time with the Maverick City Music “bittersweet.”
