(NewsNation) — Celeste Rivas Hernandez was not pregnant when her dismembered body was found in a car registered to the singer D4vd earlier this month, according to her death certificate.
Celeste’s cause of death has been listed as “deferred,” according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, which is trying to determine how the 15-year-old died, TMZ and ABC News reports.
Sources told ABC News that they hope that the lab tests and toxicology reports reveal how Celeste died.
“The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of Ms. Rivas Hernandez’s death,” The Los Angeles Police Department said on Monday. “As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.”
Celeste Rivas Hernandez reported missing
Celeste was reported missing in April 2024 when she was only 13 years old, authorities said.
Her remains were discovered inside the Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, D4vd’s real name, at a Hollywood tow yard on Sept. 8.
Celeste’s body was “likely” in Burke’s Tesla weeks before she was found, the LAPD told People Magazine.
LAPD Captain and Commanding Officer Scot M. Williams told the outlet there are still questions related to her death. “We know for sure that Celeste Rivas Hernandez died and someone placed her body in the front trunk area of David Burke’s (d4vd’s legal name) Tesla.”
“We know that the Tesla had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so it is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered,” Williams said.
D4vd’s Tesla was abandoned, neighbors say
Private investigator Steve Fischer obtained the initial complaint report, vehicle impound report and photos of Burke’s Tesla resulting from when it was declared abandoned.
He told NewsNation’s Ashleigh Banfield on Sept. 26 that neighbors noticed the car had been parked in the same spot for a while.
Fischer told NewsNation that when he spoke to neighbors of D4vd, one of them noted that they were “certain” the car had been there for “over a month.”
D4vd’s reported connection to Celeste Rivas Hernandez
The Tesla was reportedly located not far from the $20,000 monthly rental home where Burke was staying.
Celeste’s mother claims her daughter had a boyfriend named David before she went missing. A photo reportedly surfaced of the singer with a girl in Lake Elsinore, near the teen’s home.
Burke, 20, and the 15-year-old also reportedly have matching tattoos on their right index fingers with the letters “Shhh.”
The “Romantic Homicide” singer allegedly had a casket on the stage while he was performing, and he released a music video in February, “One More Dance,” which featured a body being dragged and put into a trunk.
In the video, D4vd is playing both the killer and the victim.
Burke’s friends believed the 15-year-old was his college-aged girlfriend, NewsNation learned.
D4vd leaves Hollywood Hills home
Movers arrived at Burke’s Hollywood Hills residence last week as authorities investigate the death of Celeste.
People could be seen moving boxes from the home as well as a red Tesla registered to the singer’s manager, John Marshal, who leased the house, according to NewsNation’s Los Angeles affiliate KTLA.
