(NewsNation) — After Casandra “Cassie” Ventura wrapped her testimony in the criminal trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs on Friday, her attorney said that “it’s too early to tell” if she would return to show business.

“I think right now she’s focused on her family, putting this behind her and giving birth to a healthy child,” attorney Douglas Wigdor told reporters.

Ventura endured four days on the witness stand, recounting sexually explicit text messages and viewing images and videos from her years dating Combs.

She painted Combs as a controlling and often abusive partner who she says manipulated her into participating in what they called “Freak Offs,” where Combs would often hire male escorts to have sex with Ventura as Combs watched.

After her testimony Friday, Wigdor read a statement from Ventura out loud to reporters.

“This week has been extremely challenging but also remarkably empowering and healing for me. I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from the abuse and fear,” he said in part.

Wigdor also read a statement from Alex Fine, Ventura’s husband, who was in court to hear his wife’s testimony.

“So to (Combs) and all of those who helped him along the way, please know this: You did not. You did not break her spirit, nor her smile, that lights up every room. You did not break the soul of a mother who gives the best hugs and plays the silliest games with our little girls. You did not break the woman who has made me a better man,” the statement read in part.

Ventura was in the late stages of her pregnancy while on the witness stand. The judge had urged the defense to wrap up its cross-examination by Friday so the court would not require Ventura to return after the weekend.

When reporters asked Wigdor whether she might give birth any day now, Wigdor smiled, nodded and said, “In the coming days, yeah.”

Cassie’s career in show business

Ventura signed a record deal with Combs’ Bad Boy Records in 2006 and released a self-titled album and the single “Me & U” that year.

She was considered a rising star and appeared in the 2008 film “Step Up 2: The Streets,” “The Perfect Match” and on several episodes of “Empire.”

Despite her successes, Ventura disappeared after her 2018 breakup with Combs and kept a low profile until she filed her lawsuit against Combs in November of last year — he settled it a day later for a rumored $30 million.

Since then, she has been seen out in New York City a few times and previously said she is ready to make a career comeback once the dust settles on Combs.
