(NewsNation) — It’s about to get a whole lot messier for Buckingham Palace.

Andrew Lownie, the historian, biographer and author of “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” tells me the former Duke of York, Prince Andrew (now Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor), had an obsession with sex workers — and even brought his distasteful habits home to Buckingham Palace.

While it has been reported Andrew once had “40 prostitutes” delivered to his Thailand hotel, he also brought them into the Palace.

“He brought in prostitutes to Buckingham Palace for years,” Lownie told me. “It was done on a regular basis. People who worked there complained to people in command, but nothing was done — the security that complained were told, “If you would like to go back on the beat Brixton, you have that choice, but otherwise you keep quiet.

”Of course the Queen knew (about Andrew’s proclivities). She was informed,” Lownie told me. “But he was her favorite son, and he got away with everything. They brushed it under the rug. Until now.”

Buckingham Palace didn’t return emails for comment.

“I am getting more and more information every day from people who worked at the Palace and in the government — they are no longer scared to talk or come out and tell the world what really happened now that Andrew has been removed from power … and now that he is no longer protected by the Queen,” Lownie said.

Lownie is currently working on a follow-up book to “Entitled” called “Untitled” and will delve into all the seedy allegations about Andrew that are coming to light.

Prince Andrew stripped of all royal titles and honors

Andrew’s fall from grace came about swiftly last week with enormous effect.

The former prince was stripped of his birthright title amid the scandal over his ties to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, forced to vacate Royal Lodge, the 30-room mansion he’d been inhabiting, and is now persona non grata in the country.

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace announced in a statement to the press last week.

“His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

But as Lownie told me — it may be too little too late for the Palace: “It just beggars belief, doesn’t it, that this guy just got away with it for all these years. Major changes are moving to the British monarchy — and soon.”
