Hawaiʻi-born superstar Bruno Mars announces new solo album

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Oʻahu native Bruno Mars announced his fourth solo studio album, “The Romantic,” will be released on Feb. 27.

In an Instagram post, the singer announced that a new song would be coming out this week on Jan. 9 to welcome in this new era of music.

“The Romantic” marks Mars’s first solo album in a decade, with his last solo album “24K Magic” dating back to 2016.

The “Just The Way You Are” singer got his start in music while growing up in Hawaiʻi, where he performed five nights a week at a hotel in Waikīkī as a child.

His last Hawaiʻi homecoming was during his “24K Magic” tour, where he stopped in Honolulu in November 2018. Mars played for three nights at Aloha Stadium, where he made nearly $12.4 million just off those shows.

The Grammy award-winning singer also played in Honolulu in April 2014, where he played three nights at the Blaisdell Arena during his Moonshine Jungle Tour.

In December 2010, Mars played at the Blaisdell Arena during his Doo-Wops and Hooligans Tour. After his Honolulu stop, he made his way to the Valley Isle, where he played at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
