(NewsNation) — Blake Lively is set to star in and co-produce a new action romantic comedy, as her contentious legal battle with Justin Baldoni continues.

Lionsgate has acquired “The Survival List,” the studio announced Thursday, according to People magazine

The film follows Annie, a highbrow reality TV producer who’s assigned to work on a show hosted by a famous survival expert. The two end up shipwrecked on a deserted island, where Annie discovers the host doesn’t know anything about survival, according to the movie’s synopsis.

The movie will be written by Tom Melia, Deadline reports.

Lively’s new role comes amid a legal fight with Baldoni, her former co-star and director of “It Ends With Us.”

Lively has alleged sexual harassment and a hostile work environment during filming. Baldoni has denied the allegations.

Lively has also said Baldoni coordinated a smear campaign against her following the movie’s release.

Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled for March 2026
