(NewsNation) — Blake Lively is challenging a protective order requested by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, NewsNation has learned.
Lively’s legal team filed a legal document Wednesday in the Southern District of New York asking the court to deny Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., his motion.
The “Simple Favor” actress has also asked the courts to compel Hilton to “respond and produce materials” related to the subpoena he received in July.
Lively is suing Justin Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, for spearheading a smear campaign against the actress following the release of “It Ends with Us.”
Blake Lively: Perez Hilton is working with Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer
Lively has accused Baldoni’s company of colluding with Hilton, Candace Owens and Andy Signore in spreading negative stories amid her ongoing legal battle with Baldoni, who also co-starred in the film.
Lively’s legal team alleges that Hilton, “at the request of, or on behalf of” Wayfarer, spread disparaging content about Lively. She has requested documents or any communications between Hilton and Wayfarer to prove they participated in a campaign to tar Lively’s reputation, according to People magazine.

“Since August 2024, Mr. Hilton has created more than 500 pieces of video content about Ms. Lively, almost entirely disparaging, and about the same number of posts of sensational headlines,” the legal document reads.
The “Gossip Girl” star says in the filing that Hilton used his platform to call her “Blackface Blake.” “Lying Lively,” “Ku Klux Khaleesi” and “Litigious Lively.”
She has reportedly issued subpoenas to other content creators who have fewer subscribers than Hilton and Owens before dropping them, according to NewsNation’s Paula Froelich.
Perez Hilton responds to Blake Lively filing
Hilton responded to Lively’s legal team’s filing in a YouTube video, saying he filed a motion last month to “squash” Lively’s subpoena in Las Vegas because that’s where he lives and where he received the subpoena.
“The appropriate venue to bring up any issues over this subpoena is Las Vegas, as I did,” the blogger said in his video. “The appropriate venue is not Judge Liman’s court.”
Baldoni and Lively co-starred in the movie “It Ends with Us.” In December of 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, who also served as the movie’s director, for alleged sexual harassment and creating a hostile environment on the movie set.
Lively sat down for a deposition July 31 in New York City.
Some details from that deposition have been made public, including editors of the movie expressing disapproval over her involvement in editing certain scenes.
Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled for March 2026.
