(NewsNation) — The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continued to escalate as the “A Simple Favor” actress slammed his legal team over making details of her deposition public.
On Monday, Lively’s attorneys asked a federal judge to strike a nearly 300-page rough draft of her deposition transcript from the court record, NewsNation has learned.
“In rushing to file on the public docket the entirety of the 292-page transcript on the day they received it, with no plausible legal reason to do so, the Wayfarer Defendants and their counsel have proved Ms. Lively’s point,” Lively’s attorney wrote to Judge Lewis Liman.
Blake Lively’s deposition details revealed
Details from Lively’s July 31 sit-down deposition, in which Baldoni attended, were released Monday.
In a text chain revealed in unsealed documents from Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, editor Robb Sullivan texted “SMH” — shorthand for “shaking my head” — to co-editor Oona Flaherty and a person named Henry Grace.
“The Another Simple Favor” star got approval rights for intimate scenes in “It Ends with Us” involving both her adult character, Lilly, and the younger version, which was not played by Lively.
According to People magazine, the filing claims that Baldoni’s attorneys are trying to bait Lively into defending why the transcripts should remain sealed, stating that it promotes “a false narrative that Ms. Lively is afraid of her deposition testimony becoming public, which is entirely untrue and deeply harmful.”
Baldoni and Lively co-starred in “It Ends with Us,” which earned $351 million at the worldwide box office.
Blake Lively accuses Justin Baldoni of harassment and smear campaign
In December of 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, who also served as the movie’s director, for alleged sexual harassment and creating a hostile environment on the movie set.
Baldoni has denied the allegations. Lively also claimed that Baldoni coordinated a smear campaign against her following the movie’s release.
Liman threw out Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds in June. He said Baldoni’s team had not alleged Lively was responsible for any statements outside of her California Civil Rights Department complaint, which he said is privileged.
Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled for March 2026.
