(NewsNation) — Billy Joel is postponing his upcoming tour for four months, citing a medical condition that requires physical therapy after a recent surgery.
Joel, 75, made the announcement on Instagram. The postponed dates include eight shows in Europe and North America, some of which he was scheduled to headline along with Sting and Stevie Nicks.
The singer shared dates for seven of the eight shows, with the last one left as TBD.
His team said Joel is expected to make a full recovery, but the postponement is happening because he needs to have doctor-supervised physical therapy.
Joel said he regrets having to postpone shows but needs to put his health first and that he looks forward to returning to the stage.
During a Feb. 22 concert in Connecticut, Joel stumbled and fell during a performance of “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me.” He recovered quickly, getting back on his feet to audience applause.
