(NewsNation) — Several Beyoncé fans were injured early Tuesday morning after a stampede broke out following her final Cowboy Carter tour show in Atlanta.

According to Atlanta transit officials, the incident started when a person was seen screaming and running at the Vine City train station, causing a stampede to break out on an escalator at the station, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

A witness told Fox 5 that the escalator at the station sped up and then stopped working suddenly, resulting in people falling on top of and pinning each other down.

In a video captured by Atlanta News First, multiple people can be seen on stretchers and being loaded into ambulances.

Authorities told Fox 5 that one person suffered an ankle injury, while others were treated at the hospital for scrapes and cuts.

An investigation into what caused the incident is ongoing.
