(NewsNation) — Kudos to Beyoncé!

The superstar had a slow start to the “Cowboy Carter” tour and even had to discount tickets in some cities, but she got the last laugh.

Beyoncé has highest-grossing country tour in history

This week, it was announced that the tour is the highest-grossing country tour in history. According to Billboard, Beyoncé, 43, grossed $407.6 million in ticket sales with over 1.6 million tickets sold for her 32 concerts in nine cities.

As I reported earlier this year, Beyoncé had struggled to sell out when the tour was first announced, and some fans were even complaining on her social media about the cost of tickets and her releasing so many products.

But the Beyhive sprang into action and ensured Beyoncé would not be embarrassed.

It is a move Jennifer Lopez is hoping will happen to her.

J.Lo falls behind Dolly Parton in ticket sales

As I reported last week, J.Lo is having trouble selling her Las Vegas residency … at all. The ticket sales are slow, and according to Ticketmaster, many tickets in all sections for all shows are still available, which doesn’t augur well for future performances.

To be fair, Lopez announced the New Year’s Eve shows in May, leaving plenty of time for sales to pick up (A Lopez insider told me there is a “huge” Q4 promotion plan, so get ready to be blanketed by J.Lo.).

However, Vegas insiders are comparing her to Dolly Parton.

Parton announced her two-week gig at Caesar’s at the end of June, over a month after Lopez announced her “residency,” and sold out in a day.

Lopez is hoping her fans, whom she calls the J.Lovers, will spring into action like the Beyhive did, but my spies say don’t hold your breath.

”(Lopez’s) fans are not as strong or as numerous as Beyoncé’s Beyhive or Taylor Swift’s Swifties. The reaction for an American tour was so bad it was canceled. Why does J.Lo think Vegas will be any different?” they said.

Lopez, who had to cancel her North American tour last year due to a lack of ticket sales and general interest,  is now on a bizarre tour of third-tier music venues in places like Turkey, Kazakhstan, Albania, Abu Dhabi and an assorted array of hotels in Egypt.
