(NewsNation) — “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Ian Ziering has been accused of battery and assault stemming from a road rage incident.

Ziering is accused of battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, negligence, and negligent infliction of emotional distress in a Los Angeles County civil complaint reviewed by another outlet.

Jacon Hernandez, the plaintiff, claims Ziering physically and verbally assaulted him on New Year’s Eve 2023, in an apparent road rage incident, according to People magazine.

Hernandez alleged he and a friend were riding their motorbikes through a crowded Los Angeles Street on Dec. 31, 2023, when they made an attempt to change lanes, but were forced to stop in front of an already stopped Mercedes-Benz that Ziering was in, People magazine reports.

In the complaint, Hernandez said he was “not impeding the flow of traffic in any way, specifically not the Mercedes,” as no traffic was moving.

Hernandez claims the actor got out of his vehicle, yelled at him, approached him, and shoved him “completely unprompted,” which caused Hernandez to fall into his friend and their bikes to fall to the ground, hurting them both.

Ian Ziering claims he was attacked

In January 2024, Ziering went on his Instagram page and said that he was attacked by a group of people on mini bikes.

“While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders, leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage, I exited my car,” he wrote. “This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

Hernandez said in the complaint the “Sharknado” actor used his celebrity to change the story about the events of the altercation through interviews with news outlets and retelling the story on his social media pages.
