(NewsNation) — Two of the biggest ’90s boy bands could share a stage sometime soon.
In a recent interview with Parade, Backstreet Boys lead singer Nick Carter said he and his bandmates have “talked about it a ton.”
“We’ve had those conversations internally (with) managers. It just hasn’t lined up yet,” Carter said.
The group’s members — Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough — are no strangers to a throwback collaboration.
Back in 2011 and 2012, the Backstreet Boys co-headlined the “NKOTBSB Tour” alongside New Kids on the Block.
The tour’s 80 shows took them across North America, Asia, Europe and Australia, an experience Carter said was “really great” because fans “never thought that it would ever happen.”
“So, we’re always thinking of really cool collaborations like that, and it has come up as a conversation,” Carter added.
Earlier this year, Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean told E! News that “no one knows what the future holds” in regards to a joint tour with NSYNC.
NSYNC — made up of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass — were silent for more than two decades until they released “Better Place” for the “Trolls Band Together” soundtrack.
While NSYNC members haven’t said whether a reunion is on the horizon, the Backstreet Boys seem to want it that way.
