(NewsNation) — Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes announced their engagement three years after being removed from the afternoon extension of ABC’s “Good Morning America” due to their romantic relationship.

The pair were taken off the air and placed on a temporary hiatus after photos surfaced of them holding hands and spending time together. Both were married to other people at the time but had separated.

“We all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News,” an ABC News spokesperson said in a statement.

In 2023, Holmes and Robach announced on Instagram the debut of their podcast, “Amy & T.J.”

“Now, the duo will get behind the microphone to explore meaningful conversations about current events, pop culture, and everything in between,” iHeartMedia said in announcing the podcast deal. “Nothing is off limits.”
