(NewsNation) — House Republicans say they took a significant step forward in their push to impeach President Joe Biden this week with an interview of the president’s brother, James.

However, this development was overshadowed by the Justice Department indicting a key informant in the impeachment inquiry for lying to the FBI about the Biden family and for using information from Russian intelligence.

This revelation marks another setback for the House GOP’s impeachment efforts.

During an appearance on NewsNation’s “CUOMO,” Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., argued the DOJ is not doing its job, citing suspicious activity reports related to Hunter Biden.

“Our responsibilities have oversight of the entire executive branch, including the White House and all activities they’re in. … If there are financial business dealings that could encumber the decision-making of the president of the United States, the Oversight Committee has a responsibility to investigate that,” he said.
