(NewsNation) — In a NewsNation exclusive, Suge Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, tells “CUOMO” that longtime rival Sean “Diddy” Combs should be acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

Knight called in to Tuesday night’s show from Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California, to discuss Diddy’s former assistant, Capricorn Clark, taking the stand.

“I say this all the time, Puffy and I are not friends,” Knight began. “But, Puffy should definitely walk,” he added.

Knight explained on “CUOMO” that he was acquainted with Clark, which was allegedly a source of friction for Diddy. While on the stand Tuesday, Clark told the jury that Diddy threatened her life after finding out she had previously worked for Knight.

“I don’t think this is a case where Puffy should be going to prison,” Knight said.

When asked if Clark’s stories were believable, Knight recalled a time when Clark and another woman hung out with him in New York. If Clark was so scared of Diddy, he asked, why would she be socializing with his rival?

“When it’s all said and done, how could every person who’s involved with Puffy not (be) on the stand? At some point, the law gotta be blind,” Knight added.

Diddy’s ex-assistant took armed crew to confront Suge Knight: testimony

Another former assistant of Combs, David James, also testified in his trial. James said that he witnessed an armed encounter between Combs and Knight.

In November 2008, James said he went to Mel’s Drive-In in Los Angeles to pick up food with one of Combs’ bodyguards around four in the morning. When they got there, the bodyguard claimed he saw someone hand a gun to Knight, according to James.

Combs was anxious to go and confront Knight, James testified, but Cassie Ventura, his then-girlfriend, was upset and didn’t want him to go. Combs had allegedly demanded that James drive him and his bodyguard to the diner.

While driving to the diner, James allegedly saw three guns on Combs’ lap. When they arrived, Knight had left, and James said they went back to Combs’ LA residence.

“I was real shook up by it. This was the first time being Mr. Combs’ assistant that I realized my life was in danger,” James testified.
