(NewsNation) — The man found dead at the Burning Man festival last month was killed with a kitchen knife, the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office says.

Multiple outlets reported that department officials said they have a knife they believe was the murder weapon that was used to kill Vadim Kruglov. Police identified Kruglov, 37, using his fingerprints after asking the public for help in figuring out who he was.

“It appears the injury was caused by a single stab wound to the victim’s neck,” the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect is still on the loose. Officials acknowledged they’ve collected hundreds of tips since the start of the investigation.

Vadim Kruglov was attending Burning Man for first time: Friend

The festival said in a statement that a friend of Kruglov’s said that he was attending Burning Man for the first time when he was killed.

Officials also said that due to the festival’s remote location, cellphone service isn’t available in most areas, which has led to less video and surveillance evidence.

There were 44 arrests made at this year’s event, along with Kruglov’s murder, according to officials.
