(NewsNation) — In a sequence of events that could have come straight from a movie scene, a thief using scuba gear robbed a Disney restaurant and made off with more than $10,000.

In the early morning hours Tuesday, the thief swam up to the Paddlefish restaurant in Disney Springs, which is a part of the Walt Disney World Resort.

The restaurant is operated out of a replica steamboat anchored in a lake.

After reaching the restaurant, the thief secured the gear and went to the management office and stole between $10,000 and $20,000 from staff members who were depositing the night’s earnings in the safe.

The employees were reportedly tied up, though no weapon was used.

By the time they freed themselves and called 911, the thief was gone, apparently having recovered his gear and escaping the same way he arrived.

No injuries were reported, and the restaurant and area remain open.

The swimming swindler remains at large.
