MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Local authorities said a man and a juvenile have been arrested in Tennessee after they robbed an ice cream truck driver.

On Saturday, Covington Police said a “beloved” ice cream man told them two suspects tried to rob him of his tip jar, then came inside his truck and took an unknown amount of cash from the jar.

One of the suspects, a 17-year-old, was found by police after he attempted to run away. He is charged with robbery, criminal impersonation, evading arrest and possession of tobacco as a minor, and will wear an ankle monitor until his appearance in Tipton County Juvenile Court later this month.

The other suspect is Larenzion Cooper, 25, of Memphis. He was found at a Covington gas station as he allegedly tried to shoplift an alcoholic cocktail and a phone charger. He allegedly tried to run but was caught.

Cooper is charged with robbery, evading arrest, shoplifting and vandalism.
