(NewsNation) — A Boston teenager was arrested after passing a note with a bomb threat alongside a Starburst candy in a Boston Urban Outfitters store on Sunday.

According to NBC Boston, Lucas Lembeck, 19, was arrested after allegedly giving the note to a stranger as part of a prank that he since admitted “was dumb.”

Lembeck, a native of Wayne, Pennsylvania, was released following a court hearing on personal recognizance ahead of a court hearing on Apr. 14.

The note reportedly said, “I have a bomb don’t say a (expletive) word.”

In a statement to NBC Boston, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden bemoaned the alleged decision-making of Lembeck.

“It’s difficult to fathom how in this day and age anyone would consider it a prank to hand a note to a perfect stranger in the middle of a major city indicating they were holding a bomb,” Hayden said.

“As this case indicates, such a reckless action causes fear and comes with consequences,”
