EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — Mexican authorities say they have expelled a U.S. citizen wanted in connection with a murder committed in Pennsylvania.

The suspect only identified as Donald Xavier T., 52, was apprehended earlier this week by the Chihuahua state police and turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Tuesday at one of the international bridges linking El Paso to Juarez, Mexico.

The Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office said the arrest was a collaborative effort with U.S. authorities and that it came after the National Migration Institute (INM) verified the lawful immigration status — or lack of it — of the suspect in Mexico.

Chihuahua police officers, INM agents and Mexican National Guard troops participated in the transportation of Donald Xavier T. to the bridge and his handoff to U.S. authorities.

Mexican police did not provide details on the alleged murder case. Border Report contacted U.S. Customs and Border Protection for further information and is awaiting a response.
