Man, 73, attacked with his own cane inside NYC subway station: Police

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A 73-year-old man was beaten with his own cane inside a New York City subway station Monday afternoon, according to the New York Police Department.

The incident happened around 4:10 p.m. at the 86th Street station in the city’s Brooklyn borough.


Police say an unidentified individual approached the victim and began a verbal dispute, during which he used the victim’s cane to hit him on the head and in the body, injuring his right eye and fracturing his left arm.

The suspect then fled the station. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, black pants, and gray sneakers.

The victim was taken to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn in stable condition.
