MANHATTAN. N.Y. (PIX11) — A New York City firefighter with a violent drug history is accused of beating a man with a cane during a fight in Times Square early Tuesday morning, police said.

Lexiano Harris, 32, allegedly attacked a 51-year-old man at around 3:15 a.m. local time, according to the NYPD.

The victim was struck with a cane and suffered a cut and an abrasion on the left cheek, cops said.

Harris was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. The firefighter allegedly had crystal meth when he was nabbed.

Harris has two prior busts for assault and another arrest for menacing over the summer, according to police.

Harris was accused of punching two men, ages 54 and 31, during fights in separate locations in Manhattan on Aug. 16, cops said.

The older man suffered a right eye injury, bleeding from the mouth, and a fractured right ankle, prosecutors said.

The younger man was punched and kicked in the body and had injuries to his back, neck and nose, as well as pain in his right hand.

Prosecutors said Harris was one of five people allegedly involved in the gang assault. Officers also found a clear plastic bag with cocaine at the scene and charged the firefighter with criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to the criminal complaint.

In July, Harris allegedly threatened a 30-year-old man with a knife, police said. The victim was not injured. He pleaded not guilty in that case and was released without bail, according to court records.

Harris’ arraignment in Tuesday’s incident was pending. His lawyers could not immediately be reached.

The FDNY did not immediately respond to an inquiry about his job status or statement on the arrest.
