(NewsNation) — The wife of Jill Biden’s first husband has died following a domestic dispute call Sunday in Delaware, authorities said.
New Castle County Division of Police responded to the call at the Wilmington home of Bill Stevenson around 11 p.m. on Dec. 28 and found his wife, Linda Stevenson, 64, unresponsive in the living room. The department reports that officials administered “life-saving measures,” but she was later pronounced dead.
According to the department, an investigation is underway, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death. It is unclear if Stevenson was home when authorities responded to the call. Newsweek reports that as of Tuesday, no charges had been filed in connection with the investigation.
The former first lady was married to Bill Stevenson from 1970 to 1975, before marrying former President Joe Biden in 1977.
