Inmates, including murder suspect, escape Georgia jail

(NewsNation) — Authorities in Georgia are searching for three escaped inmates who escaped from the DeKalb County Jail.

In a Facebook post, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said the inmates, including one who was charged with murder, were discovered missing early Monday morning during a routine security check. The department said it is working with other local law enforcement agencies to find them.


“We take this breach very seriously and are working diligently to ensure these individuals are safely returned to custody as quickly as possible,” Sheriff Melody M. Maddox wrote.

The department said the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous and advised the public to exercise caution and not approach them.
