(NewsNation) — Idaho State Police have released new photos of Bryan Kohberger’s white Hyundai Elantra after it was taken in for processing by Pennsylvania authorities following his arrest in the murders of four Idaho students.
The photos show several views of the car after the interior was stripped for testing. It appears to be sprayed with a white substance, presumably used to detect fluid or fingerprints.
Kohberger was arrested at his parents’ home in Pennsylvania weeks after the brutal killings in November 2022.
Security footage had captured Kohberger’s white Elantra circling the King Road neighborhood where the victims lived multiple times in the hour before he killed the students.
The video, obtained by NewsNation and first reported by the Idaho Statesman, showed Kohberger making several passes by the victims’ home between 3:30 a.m. and 4:20 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2022. Moscow police released the footage following a public records request.
The 2015 sedan, which didn’t have a front license plate required in Pennsylvania, where it was registered at the time, appeared four separate times on the neighbor’s security camera at 1112 King Road.
Kohberger registered his vehicle in Washington five days after the murders and changed his license plates.
He pleaded guilty last month to four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary, receiving four consecutive life sentences without parole.
