SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJW) — A Florida man was arrested last week after he allegedly held a woman against her will for months, investigators said.
According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a business on May 27 after a suspicious note was found in the bathroom.
As reported by People, a Jersey Mike’s Subs employee found the note, which read, in part, “Please help me.”
In the note, a woman said she was being held captive against her will at a residence in the area and that she was afraid for her life.
Through surveillance videos, previous case records and witness interviews, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 34-year-old Jordan Williams. Williams and the victim have a history of domestic violence situations, the sheriff’s office said.
According to the department, deputies conducted a search at the residence listed in the note. Once there, deputies found a woman who confirmed that she wrote it.
“She detailed repeated assaults, threats involving weapons and being held in isolation by Williams for a span of several months,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release last week.
According to deputies, the victim was taken to a local hospital with suspected broken bones and other injuries.
Williams was arrested on several felony charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, battery and battery by strangulation, the release said.

He was taken to the Santa Rosa County jail on Wednesday. According to court records, Williams is being held without bond.
“This case represents the strength of coordinated work by my staff and the bravery of the victim,” Sheriff Bob Johnson wrote in the release. “Thanks to her courage and the deputies’ swift actions, she is now safe and receiving care.”
