INDIANAPOLIS (WXIN) — A fitness and home gym influencer with over 100,000 followers on social media has been arrested in Indianapolis on child seduction charges.

Brian Kyle Divine, who goes by Kaizen DIY Gym online, was arrested last week after being accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl to whom he had reportedly given drugs and alcohol.

The 44-year-old was officially charged Monday with six counts of felony child seduction.

Investigation

Indianapolis police were called on Nov. 26 to conduct a rape investigation at a home on the city’s north side. Officers found Divine in the basement and placed him under arrest.

While investigating, detectives spoke with a 16-year-old girl who said she had three separate “sexual encounters” with Divine after they had gotten drunk together. The victim had reportedly been helping Divine set up a home gym at a warehouse on the west side.

One day in October, while working with Divine at the warehouse, the girl said that she was provided both beer and vodka. After getting drunk, Divine reportedly began kissing her before the encounter turned sexual. He allegedly assaulted her twice that day at the garage.

The final accusation happened weeks later at Divine’s home when his wife was reportedly out of town. The victim said Divine had again provided her with alcohol and cigarettes before they again had sex in Divine’s bed.

Last week, the victim’s mother found deleted screenshots of a chat that the girl had online with the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN). After this, she went to the police.

The mother later told officers that Divine, who works in IT, is “tech-savvy and secretive with technology.” She alleged that he had tried to hack into the victim’s phone to delete evidence.

Interview

During an interview with detectives, Divine reportedly admitted to all three sexual encounters and told police that he had been giving the girl marijuana, beer and hard liquor.

He claimed that the sex was consensual and that the girl initiated the encounters.

“Divine stated the victim wanted to continue their sexual relationship, but he didn’t want to,” court documents read.

The victim told detectives that Divine later texted that he was “sorry” for the hurt he caused her and that he claimed he was going to harm himself. She said that Divine later called her a “whore.”

Arrest

Divine is now being held without bond in Marion County Jail, and several no-contact orders have been filed against him. He’s now charged with six felony counts of child seduction, in addition to a misdemeanor charge for contributing to a minor.

Online court records show that an initial hearing in his case was held Tuesday afternoon in Marion Superior Court 30.

Social media influencer

In addition to working in IT, Divine is a popular online fitness influencer.

A self-described “gym bro” and “home gym enthusiast,” his Instagram account has over 116,000 followers. His YouTube account, Kaizen DIY Gym, has over 100,000 subscribers and has garnered over 62 million views.

One of Divine’s most recent Instagram posts prior to his arrest previewed a “new home gym space” that appears to be the same west side warehouse where two of the sexual encounters allegedly occurred.
