(NewsNation) — A woman found dead in a boat in Montauk, New York, has been identified as 33-year-old fashion designer Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra, NewsNation local affiliate WPIX reported.

A witness discovered Nolan-O’Slatarra’s unconscious body in a boat docked at the Montauk Yacht Club shortly after midnight Tuesday, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

Bystanders attempted to perform CPR, but police ultimately pronounced her dead on the scene.

Nolan-O’Slatarra’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to conduct an autopsy.

Originally from Ireland, Nolan-O’Slatarra moved to New York and founded the fashion brand East x East, according to a 2024 report from the Irish Independent.

A Montauk Yacht Club member allegedly told the New York Post that they, along with other members and some captains, heard screaming coming from the docks late Monday night. Police have not yet confirmed that report.

Suffolk’s homicide detective squad is investigating the case. Anyone who has information about Nolan-O’Slatarra’s death should call 631-852-6392.

NewsNation has reached out to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, the Montauk Yacht Club and New York’s Consulate General of Ireland for statements.
