(NewsNation) — An attorney representing victims of Jeffrey Epstein says information the Justice Department unveiled Thursday could shed light on members of Epstein’s inner circle and their potential culpability in his sex trafficking enterprise.

Attorney General Pam Bondi released what is thought to be the first wave of government documents in the case of Epstein, who died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 as he awaited trial on federal charges he trafficked minors.

An Associated Press analysis of Thursday’s so-called document dump indicated much of the information has long been in the public domain — in other words, no major revelations. Some of the material, such as the names of victims, is redacted.

Still, attorney Sigrid McCawley, who represents Epstein victims, said some of the information is notable, including flight logs for the financier’s private plane and records that identify people who worked for Epstein or interacted with him.

“There were blurry lines here, without question,” McCawley said. “But there are many people the government has not yet held accountable who were in that inner circle and who were critical in facilitating the trafficking. We’re hoping that now there will be a fresh look at this information.”

McCawley’s clients include Virginia Giuffre, who has accused Epstein of trafficking her when she was under 18.

Epstein’s confidant, Ghislaine Maxwell, is serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping him traffic minors.
