DOJ releases thousands more Epstein files

(NewsNation) — The Department of Justice on Tuesday released thousands of new pages related to its investigation of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including a completely redacted witness list.

The latest drop includes approximately 11,000 documents, totaling nearly 30,000 pages, according to the DOJ. The files include references to President Donald Trump and hundreds of videos.

Documents in the files include testimony from a limo driver who said he overheard “concerning” remarks while Trump was making a phone call, and information about the number of times Trump flew on Epstein’s jet.

Another item in the files was a postcard allegedly sent from Epstein to Larry Nassar, which the DOJ says is fake.

Those named in the files include Trump, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

According to media reports, some new documents were available on the site for hours Monday but were taken down at 8 p.m. It is unclear if the documents made available in the early hours of Tuesday are the same ones.

Tuesday’s document drop follows the release of several thousand files in seven batches over the weekend. A majority of those files were heavily redacted.

The Justice Department was ordered by Congress to release all files related to the investigation by Dec. 19 following the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November. More documents remain unseen, and the timeline for their release is unknown.

Files show prison psychiatry demed Epstein at low risk for suicide

Evaluations from late July and early August indicated that Epstein had been evaluated and was deemed to be at low risk for suicide based on his behavior and the fact that he denied any thoughts of self-harm.

A report from Aug. 1, 2019, stated that a suicide watch was not needed but that he would have a follow-up with psychology.

An Aug. 8, 2019, report from psychology, issued just two days before Epstein’s death, stated he did not appear to be in distress.

The report said Epstein denied any mental health symptoms, including feelings of depression and anxiety, as well as denying any suicidal ideation or intention. The report noted that Epstein spent his days with attorneys and was missing some books he had been readign when in the suicide watch area.

Epstein was given education on routine and emergency procedures for mental health and was told about self-help books and audiotapes.

The report stated there was no need for an additional follow-up visit and that Epstein would be seen in weekly rounds.

FBI says alleged postcard to Larry Nassar is fake

The FBI has confirmed the alleged postcard from Epstein to Larry Nassar is fake, the agency said on X.

“The fake letter was received by the jail, and flagged for the FBI at the time. The FBI made this conclusion based on the following facts:

-The writing does not appear to match Jeffrey Epstein’s.

-The letter was postmarked three days after Epstein’s death out of Northern Virginia, when he was jailed in New York.

-The return address did not list the jail where Epstein was held and did not include his inmate number, which is required for outgoing mail.

This fake letter serves as a reminder that just because a document is released by the Department of Justice does not make the allegations or claims within the document factual. Nevertheless, the DOJ will continue to release all material required by law,” the post said.

Files include allegation of ‘pedophile ring parties’

An individual from the UK submitted information to the FBI, who made allegations that between the ages of six and eight, they were “drugged at night and driven to pedophile ring ‘parties’.”

They recounted an incident where they were allegedly hit by a car being driven by then-Prince Andrew and suffered permanent injuries but were not taken to the hospital.

The person said they also escaped from the house once and made it to the Irish Traveller community, who might be able to corroborate their story.

The person also said they were taken to a residence they later recognized as Frogmore Cottage, where they say they were physically tortured and abused by Ghislaine Maxwell while men, including then-Prince Andrew, watched.

The person said they broke their nose during that incident but they were not taken to a hospital until after a rugby game, which could explain such an injury.

DOJ investigating alleged postcard from Epstein to Nassar

The DOJ posted on X saying it was investigating the alleged postcard to Nassar:

“The Department of Justice is currently looking into the validity of this alleged letter from Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar and we will follow up as soon as possible.

“In the meantime, three facts stand out:

“-The postmark on the envelope is Virginia, not New York, where Jeffrey Epstein was jailed at the time.

“-The return address listed the wrong jail where Epstein was held and did not include his inmate number, which is required for outgoing mail.

“-The envelope was processed three days AFTER Epstein’s death.”

Woman says she was told Trump party was ‘for prostitutes’

A woman whose name was redacted contacted the FBI in 2020 to report information about a party hosted by Epstein.

The woman said they met someone named Ghislaine Lisa Villeneuve when they were roommates in a hospital in 2000.

She described going to a Christmas party in 2000 at a house believed to belong to Epstein and described a man who called himself a talent scout, named Bobby Cox, to which Villeneuve laughed and said, “No, you’re a pimp.”

The hostess was believed to be Ghislaine Maxwell. One attendee, listed in the document as “Curt Schmidt, who was a CEO of Blue Buffalo,” allegedly asked if the woman was “cool,” to which Villeneuve interjected, “No, he means cool to have sex.” Schmidt allegedly responded that no, he meant cocaine.

At the party, the redacted woman said someone told the party that Donald Trump had invited everyone to Mar-a-Lago and that she told Villeneuve she wanted to go.

“Villeneuve told [her] it wasn’t that kind of party, it was for prostitutes,” the file states. The person said she had not spoken to Villeneuve since 2002.

The writer then goes on to say, “Our president also shares our love of young, nubile girls,” and then notes that it is unfair that they ended up in the prison system while he did not.

The postcard has a postmark dated Aug. 13, 2019, three days after Epstein’s death.

Limo driver details overheard Trump phone calls: ‘Abusing some girl’

Anna Kutz

A limousine driver overheard “concerning” phone calls with Trump and spoke with a woman who claimed “Donald J. Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein,” according to information shared during a call to the FBI National Threat Operations Center Unit on Oct. 27, 2020, and published in the latest Epstein files release.

The driver, whose name was redacted, said that, while driving Trump to the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport in 1995, he heard Trump continuously say the name “Jeffrey” and refer to “abusing some girl.”

The identity of that girl was unknown to the driver, and he said he was “a few seconds from pulling the limousine over on the median … pulling him out of the car and hurting him due to some of the things he was saying.”

In 1999, the driver said he recounted this story to a woman who’d previously said she met Trump and “Ghislaine” in 1997. In response, he said she replied, “He raped me.”

She told the driver she was taken into a “fancy hotel or building” by “some girl with a funny name,” where Epstein and Trump assaulted her.

The woman first said she could not report the assault (“I can’t, they will kill me”), according to the driver, but eventually told police. The driver said she was later found with her head “blown off” in Oklahoma, which was ruled a suicide.

The driver told the FBI he believes she was killed as a cover for Ghislaine Maxwell.

Trump was on Epstein’s jet ‘many more times’ than previously reported: Email

Anna Kutz

One of the documents in the latest tranche is an email that posits Trump “has traveled on Epstein’s private jet many more times than previously has been reported (or that we were aware).”

The message, sent on Jan. 7, 2020, is part of an email chain with the subject line, “RE: Epstein flight records” and appears to regard the investigation into Epstein’s longtime confidant, Ghislaine Maxwell.

“In particular, he is listed as a passenger on at least eight flights between 1993 and 1996, including at least four flights on which Maxwell was also present,” the email reads.

Trump allegedly traveled “with, among others and at various times,” then-wife Marla Maples and children Tiffany and Eric.

“On two other flights, two of the passengers, respectively, were women who would be possible witnesses in a Maxwell case,” the email continues.

Both the sender and recipient are redacted, though the partially redacted email signature reads “Assistant U.S. Attorney Southern District of New York.”

DOJ: Files contain ‘untrue and sensationalist claims’ about Trump

Anna Kutz

In a new statement, the DOJ said some of the 30,000 new pages released contain “untrue and sensationalist claims” about President Donald Trump, submitted to the FBI before the 2020 election.

The department did not clarify which claims — and corresponding files — contained such material.

“To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already,” the DOJ said.
