(NewsNation) — Rapper Kid Cudi told jurors that Sean “Diddy” Combs broke into his Los Angeles home and waited for him after finding out the singer was dating his ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. A few days later, his car was firebombed in his driveway.

Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, testified that Combs allegedly broke into his home in December 2011 while he took Ventura to a West Hollywood hotel to get her away from Combs, the rapper testified.

Days later, his car was firebombed with a Molotov cocktail in his driveway. Mescudi said he believed Combs was involved.

Prosecutors released photos of the burned-out Porsche 911 that were shown to the jury.

Diddy allegedly breaks into Kid Cudi’s home

Mescudi testified Thursday that Ventura had called and asked him to pick her up, saying she was scared because Combs found out that the two were dating.

While at the hotel, Mescudi said he got a phone call from Combs’ assistant, Capricorn Clark. He said she told him, “Sean Combs and an affiliate were in my house and she was in a car and she was forced to go with them over there.”

Mescudi said he got into a Porsche 911 convertible and drove there, calling Combs on the way. He asked Combs why he was in the house, and the music producer calmly replied, “I want to talk to you,” and “I’m over here waiting for you.”

But Combs wasn’t there when he arrived, Mescudi told jurors. When he walked in, he found Christmas presents he’d purchased for his family opened and his dog locked up in a bathroom.

Mescudi said he got back into his car and called Combs again, asking him where he was. “He said, ‘I’m on my way, I’m on my way,’” Mescudi testified.

Mescudi said he wasn’t sure what was going on, so he decided to call the police.

Kid Cudi says Diddy blew up his car

Weeks after the break-in, Mescudi testified that Combs allegedly blew up Cudi’s car out of anger that the rapper dated Ventura.

Mescudi told jurors that his Porsche 911 convertible was destroyed by a fire in the driveway of his Hollywood Hills home.

Mescudi said he was about 45 minutes away at a friend’s house when his dog sitter called and “told me my car was on fire.”

Images of the vehicle were shown to the jury, including a Molotov cocktail in the passenger seat and a hole cut into the roof.

Kid Cudi car fire was targeted, investigator says

LAFD arson investigator Lance Jiminez told the jury this week that he was called to Mescudi’s residence after the rapper’s Porsche was lit on fire.

Jiminez said a Molotov cocktail appeared to have been used to ignite Mescudi’s vehicle, but it did not explode due to a malfunction; however, the damage can be quite extensive if it went off, he explained.

At the time, the fire department was at the rapper’s home on Jan. 9, 2012. By the time he arrived, the fire had been extinguished. He testified, “I personally felt that it was targeted.”

According to Jiminez, investigators collected a 40 oz bottle of Old English malt liquor with gasoline in it, a red lighter and a cloth with some kind of designer label.

Ex-Diddy assistant claims she was kidnapped in plot to kill Kid Cudi

Combs’ former assistant, Capricorn Clark, testified this week, telling jurors she was kidnapped at gunpoint by her ex-boss, who also threatened to kill her.

Clark testified that she was kidnapped in December 2011 by Combs, who forced her to go to Mescudi’s home to confront him about his relationship with Ventura.

She said Combs showed up at her door with a gun in his hand and told her to, “put some motherf—–g clothes on. We’re going to kill this n—–,” referring to Cudi.

Kid Cudi arranged to talk to Diddy after Porsche fire

Mescudi arranged to speak to Combs, saying, “After the fire, I said, this is getting out of hand, I need to talk to him.” He noted that he did not have any conflicts with anyone else at the time.

“I knew he had something to do with it,” Mescudi said.

The defense objected to his remark, and the judge asked the jurors to disregard it.

Ventura testified last week that Combs threatened to blow up Mescudi’s car and hurt him after he learned she was dating Mescudi. She said Combs told her he’d be out of the country when it happened, and it wouldn’t be by his hands.

Kid Cudi’s relationship with Cassie

Mescudi was called by prosecutors to tell the jury about his brief relationship with Ventura. The rapper told jurors that the two first met in 2008, recorded some music together, and dated in 2011.

During her testimony, Ventura said she and Mescudi began dating when things were “not in the greatest place” for her and Combs. Out of fear, Ventura got a burner phone to communicate with Mescudi so Combs would not find out, she testified.

Although she and Combs broke up, she said they still engaged in so-called “Freak Offs.” It was during one of those episodes that Combs looked at her phone and figured out that she was seeing Mescudi, Ventura said.

She eventually broke things off with Mescudi for fear of both their lives, she testified. “It was just too much,” she said. “Too much danger, too much uncertainty of, like, what could happen if we continued to see each other.”
