Judge denies defense’s motion for a mistrial

Judge Arun Subramanian denied the defense’s motion for a mistrial on Tuesday. This is their second attempt.

The judge said this is not “fodder for mistrial, it is the adversarial process at work.”

He cited that the defense had ample time during their cross-examination to question Bryana Bongolan regarding her testimony that Combs had dangled her over Ventura’s apartment balcony.

The defense wrote a letter to the judge over the weekend seeking a mistrial for “prosecutorial misconduct” based on Bongolan’s testimony.

Combs’ attorney, Teny Geragos, led the cross-examination of Jane.

Jane said that when Homeland Security Investigation agents came to her residence provided by Combs, she did not want to engage with them. She retained legal counsel paid for by the rapper.

After Combs’ arrest, she was granted immunity from the government and then spoke to a grand jury.

Jane said she loves Combs despite all that has occurred in their relationship and outside of it.

However, she expressed, “I resent him for leading me into that lifestyle,” and that her choices were made under “a lot of pressure.”

Jane said she did not initially understand that participating in “hotel nights” would be a large part of her relationship with Combs.

“He introduced me to this lifestyle under a lot of emotional pressure. I was so hooked from the beginning on the love and affection, I fell in love with him, and I didn’t understand the terms of the relationship,” she testified.

She said the only reason she endured the “hotel nights” was the “lovemaking” between her and Combs.

Jane explained that drugs were offered to her by Combs.

“I would say that Mr. Combs would offer me the ecstasy and I would take it,” Jane stated.

She mentioned that her former partner is an avid watcher of the television show “Dateline.”

Jane said that Combs shared gospel sermons with her.

“He had a favorite pastor, and he would put sermons on TV, and we would watch it together, and he would send me sermons, and I would watch it on my own,” she described.

Diddy wired Jane $150,000 during their relationship

During Jane’s cross-examination, the defense focused on how much money Combs gave his then-girlfriend.

She said it was an estimated $150,000 over the 3.5 years they were together.

As an influencer, she made roughly $50,000.

Diddy’s nickname for Jane was ‘Crack Pipe’

After they returned from Turks and Caicos in 203, Combs left a voicemail to Jane that said, “Get your rest, you are the crack pipe, that’s my name for you, ‘Crack Pipe,’ I’m going to call you ‘Crack Pipe,’ a very good time together.”

On that voice memo. Combs asked Jane if she received their “love contract.”

Combs asked, “You got your contract?”

Jane replied, “Baby you make me laugh… the addiction is real… Yay! Two-year contract!”

Jane said she knew Combs was seeing other women and led a polyamorous lifestyle. Initially, she was accepting of this, yet it became increasingly more difficult as she grew more attached to the Bad Boy record label executive.

Diddy started dating Yung Miami while dating Jane

Combs began dating rapper Yung Miami six months after he began his relationship with Jane.

Jane explained that while she understood her then-boyfriend was seeing other women, it was difficult to see him be public with someone else.

“What was hard for me was the imbalance in treatment,” Jane said. “I didn’t sign up to date a man that was in a public relationship.”

Jane saw Combs giving gifts to Yung Miami, so she requested her own present,s which he would provide to her.

Jane testifies she was worried about Combs’ deteriorating health due to alcohol

Jane grew concerned over Combs’ health due to what she believed was alcohol abuse. She described Combs’ gums as gray, his hands shaky and thought he was developing jaundice from drinking.

She recommended that Combs seek medical intervention at a rehab in Thailand.

Jane said Combs pushed back, replying, “What the hell, you think I need rehab?”

Jane testifies she transported drugs for Diddy

Jane said she transported drugs for Combs twice during their relationship.

In text messages between herself and Combs’ chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, they spoke about arranging flights and transport for the substances to Miami and had a phone call to coordinate the delivery.

Jane and Diddy’s lawyer have tense moment over luxury purses

Combs’ attorney, Teny Geragos, asked Jane about handbags she was given by Combs, which resulted in a heated exchange between the two women.

Geragos asked Jane, “You didn’t get a Chanel bag?”

Jane shot back, “I only got trauma.”

Geragos followed up with, “What is a Bottega bag?”

Jane retorted, “I’m sure you’ve got one.”

Then Geragos questioned how much a Bottega purse costs. Jane replied, “How much does my body cost?”

The judge told Jane she needed to answer the questions asked.

Jane and Diddy traded punches after Cassie video leaked: testimony

On Monday, she detailed to the jurors that she and the rapper had a physical altercation days after the video footage of Combs violently assaulting his then-partner, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles in September 2016 was released by CNN.

Jane said they traded punches at each other roughly a month after the footage was published, after she confronted Combs about another woman.

Throughout her days-long testimony, Jane detailed that she participated in “hotel nights,” which included heavy drug use and having unprotected sex with male sex workers under Combs’ instruction.

She said she felt obliged to have sex with men in front of her then-boyfriend because he paid for her home, provided monetarily, and she wanted to please him. Jane referred to her relationship with the music entrepreneur as “toxic.”

Combs has pleaded not guilty. He faces federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
