(NewsNation) — NewsNation got a close-up view of the roof where suspected gunman Tyler Robinson is alleged to have killed Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, a conservative activist and ally of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot Sept. 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.
NewsNation crews captured video of the roof, showcasing how accessible it was to gain access to.
“Before I saw this, I thought he had to go some sneaky way to get up here,” NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin said of the alleged assassin.
“This is just a big open walkway where students walk back and forth between the buildings,” he said of the path near the roof.
“You could literally just pop over that railing and then boom, you’re out on the roof, walk a little bit, and you would have a clear view to the courtyard,” where Kirk was engaging with a student at the time of the shooting.
“I was surprised how easy it was to get on the roof,” Entin added.
The FBI is conducting new interviews with people who were witnesses, and specifically zeroing in on people who had children at the event.
Senior producer Allison Weiner joined “Brian Entin Investigates” to discuss why the agency could be conducting interviews with parents.
“They’re getting their ducks in a row for filing for the death penalty,” Weiner said.
“To get to be a death penalty case, you have to have certain qualifications. Certain things have to have happened, and if you murder somebody in front of children, that’s one of the things that has to happen,” she added.
