NEW YORK (WPIX) — A woman was attacked while sleeping inside her Bushwick home early Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

Police said it happened near Pilling Street and Evergreen Avenue around 3:40 a.m. A man broke into the home through an open window in the kitchen, sources told PIX11 News.

Police said the suspect approached the 43-year-old victim and placed a pillow over her head. She fought back, according to authorities.

Police said the man tied up her wrists, made sexual advances, and performed a lewd act. He stole the victim’s cellphone and watch from her bedroom before running from the home, according to authorities.

Police said the woman was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The man was last seen wearing a white baseball cap, a black sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, black sneakers, and a dark-colored book bag, according to authorities.
