(NewsNation) — The United States Postal Service is making a slight adjustment to its prices for the upcoming holiday season.
The mailing agency announced temporary price changes for some package services being shipped over the winter holidays.
“The planned adjustments, which the USPS governors approved Aug. 7, will affect prices on Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage and Parcel Select,” the USPS said in a press release. “No other products or services would be affected.”
If approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission, the temporary rates would take effect on Oct. 5 and end Jan. 18.
The USPS says the modified prices will help cover extra handling costs, while aligning prices for its commercial and retail customers with competitive practices.
